Earn While You Learn:
The Earn While You Learn Program provides the support and resources needed during pregnancy and after the baby is born. This program helps parents learn to be the best that they can be. There are more than 50 modules which can be completed.
A support worker is assigned to each client to provide a consistent, stable relationship. During the session, the client watches a video and completes a video worksheet. Homework assignments are given.
This program is unique in that the clients are assessed at their first visit and a program is designed specifically for them. They can start the program immediately after their pregnancy is confirmed or they can join in at any time during the pregnancy. The program continues after their baby is born. The baby’s father is encouraged to participate in the learning process.
Baby Bucks which can be spent in the Baby*Mart are earned as follows:
* For visits with their support worker
* For completing their homework assignments
* For attending their obstetrician or midwife appointments
* For attending the prenatal classes at Algoma Public Health
* For attending the Sault Area Hospital Prenatal Clinic visit
