Free Pregnancy Tests
Any woman who thinks she might be pregnant can come for a free pregnancy test. The tests are purchased from a pharmaceutical company.
Each client performs her own test with guidance from a support worker. Results are read within ten minutes.
Clients are asked to sign a disclaimer stating we are not a medical facility and therefore not diagnosing pregnancy. Clients are encouraged to confirm the test results with a doctor.
Options Counseling
When a client has a positive pregnancy test, she needs information in order to make an informed decision.
We provide information on parenting, adoption, and abortion.
The Centre does not refer for abortion.
Care Closet
Gently used baby bedding and clothes including sleepers, undershirts and outfits from newborn to 24 months are available at no charge to anyone who needs them.
Used maternity clothes are also available.
Earn While You Learn
The Earn While You Learn Program provides the support and resources needed during pregnancy and after the baby is born.
This program helps parents learn to be the best that they can be. There are more than 50 modules which can be completed.
A support worker is assigned to each client to provide a consistent, stable relationship.
During the session, the client watches a video and completes a video worksheet.
Homework assignments are given.
This program is unique in that the clients are assessed at their first visit and a program is designed specifically for them.
They can start the program immediately after their pregnancy is confirmed or they can join at any time during the pregnancy.
The program continues after their baby is born. The baby’s father is encouraged to participate in the learning process.
